About Allemand/Brown Family
Thanks for "peering in" -- PLEASE SIGN my GUESTBOOK?
My "sources" for this family tree are from shared family references; LDS records from
FRANCE on the ALLEMAND family - courtesy of a newly-found "cousin," John; a selected
compilation from The BENNETT History by George Roy BENNETT, Milford, DE, dated August
18, 1964; a file from another recently-found BROWN "cousin," Cathy; and information
gleaned from Ancestry.com and all the other many sources now on the internet. It is
correct as far as I can ascertain. I am adding more relatives as I learn of them
(and/or as I have the time to enter them.) YOUR HELP IN ADDING TO OUR FAMILY TREE
WOULD BE WELCOMED -- the more original documentation you can provide the better!!!
This IS a work-in-progress, and I invite EACH of YOU to participate!
If you find ANY errors, omissions, or additions that should be made, PLEASE contact
the Webmaster.
Regarding the DONEGAN ancestry, Halbert of Bath, Ohio 44120, who specializes in
heraldic information tells us: "The Irish O' denotes grandfather. Different spellings
of the same original surname are a common occurence. Dictionaries of surnames
indicate probable spelling variations. The most prominent variations of DONEGAN are
Dongan, Dongans, Donnegan and Dunnegan (and our ancestors came with it spelled
Dunnigan). ... Census records available disclose the fact there are 725 heads of
households in the U.S. with the old and distinguished Donegan name. The Census Bureau
estimates there are approximately 3.2 persons per household in America, which yields
an approximate total of 2320 people in the U.S. carrying the Donegan name."
